Most of us have used the tape measure for a thing or the other and even in childhood, you would have used it to know how tall you were getting year by year. It is one of the most important tools for any handyman, repair guy, architect and builder as it gives precise measurements of where to cut and how much to cut and where the joints should be made. 1 A general tape measure and its markings
Normally tape measures are used by both professionals and in homes to measure something or the other. Professionals use it in order to mark measurements on the handy work they do like building something or preparing to join something and similar works. In homes, they are used to do menial works like measuring clothes to cut, measuring heights of kids and other uses. But have you ever thought of markings on the tape? The large numbers represent the inches and smaller numbers at the bottom represent the centimeters. Also there are some roman numerals on the tape in a red colored circle. It is there to represent how accurate is the tape measure. The smaller the number in the circle, the more accurate the tape measure is.
