Japan’s Fukushima nuclear plant was rocked on the fateful day of March 11, 2011 when the country was hit by a 9.0 magnitude earthquake and it caused massive leaks of radiation. The earthquake caused death of more than 18,500 people and it also caused the destruction of the backup power supply to the nuclear power plant and that caused all of the six reactors to fail and Japanese authorities evacuated more than 160,000 people as a result of radiation permanently.
