Lina was victim of a strange condition of premature puberty with a menstruation cycle beginning when she just two and a half. But that wasn’t the only aspect of her life to surprise her family. What her parents thought was a tumor resulting in a bulging stomach, turned out to be something shocking.
1 Diagnosed with the condition of precocious puberty
Lina Medina is the world’s youngest mother confirmed in medical history. Lina suffered from a condition called precocious puberty. Which is premature sexual development. While girls usually attain puberty by the age of 11 or 12, Lina reached puberty when she was two and a half years old. She was fully developed by the time she reached four. At five her body displayed signs of bone maturation and pelvic widening.
However, to add to the condition, her parents noticed an unusual bulge in her stomach. Thinking it to be a tumor, they took Lina to a shaman who wasn’t of much help. They then took her to a doctor.
