Many Galaxy users have faced problems at one point or the other Sometimes to the point of a phone hanging and not working after that. Rather than waste time taking your Samsung Galaxy 4 or 5 to a service center, there is a way of resetting your phone and return it back to normal.
Depending on your problem you can try a soft reset or hard reset which is actually setting your phone back to its factory defaults and here’s how to do it. While a soft reset just reboots the device, a hard reset may require a re-installation of your apps.
1 Soft resetting your Samsung Galaxy S3
Either turn of your phone by holding the power button down for 10 to 20 seconds and turn it on in these steps.
Remove the back lid, the battery, the micro sim and the micro SD card and wait 5 minutes. After that put them all back again and turn on your phone.
